These Apple Dumplings are the perfect combination between apples, cinnamon, and sugar, all wrapped up in a perfectly flaky biscuit. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and talk about comfort food!
Dumplings are some sort of dough wrapped around the fruit. Like most dumpling recipes, you’ll find different variations of how to make them, and no two look the same.
If made from scratch, dumplings can be somewhat labor-intensive, however, canned pie filling and canned biscuits make this recipe super easy.
Ingredients:
1 can refrigerated biscuits
1 can apple pie filling
1 stick butter, melted
Cinnamon and sugar mixture placed in a shallow bowl for dipping
How to:
Preheat oven according to directions on the can
Using your hands or rolling pin, roll biscuits out to a medium-size circle
Scoop a spoonful of apples into the center of the flattened biscuit
Gather edges of the biscuits over the filling and pinch shut.
Dip the top side of the biscuit in the butter and then into the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Place in a muffin tin pinch side dow.
Bake at the temperature on the biscuit can for 15-20 minutes, or until done.
